Shared MMS (Picture Message) Shortcode Now Available

Webcorona is happy to announce it is now offering access to a shared MMS (multimedia/picture message) short code number, via a keyword of your choice.

Using our custom scripts, we can HTTP POST data from incoming picture messages and forward them to a web server of your choice, including those hosted by ourselves. We can forward messages based on subject and/or by the text the message starts with, along with providing URLs to download multimedia attachments.

We can also offer reverse billing text messages, with a number of different pricing bands, based on a revenue sharing model. This can provide you with a complete system for processing mobile multimedia content, while billing your customers directly to their phone bill – no complications, no fuss.

If you have a requirement for a service and would like a custom solution built to fulfil your needs, please don’t hesitate to ask us for a quotation. Webcorona are experts in web and mobile development and would be happy to tailor a software package to your needs. For an example of one of our mobile services, take a look at Cellifieds.

Prices start from £75+VAT per keyword, per UK network, per month on the 88810 short code. Your customers will find it much easier to remember a short code, rather than a full number which many of our competitors use.

If you would like more information on this service, see our mobile page. Please email us on queries@webcorona.com or call us on 08458 683356 to discuss your requirements.

*Currently, O2 and Orange networks are supported, but additional networks can be added, depending on your requirement.

Cellifieds Provides Picture Message Service for Newspapers

Webcorona is pleased to announce that Cellifieds is now offering a MMS (picture message) gateway service to press publications. This allows the press to take advantage of advances in mobile phone technology to give their readers a new, easy way to submit adverts to their newspaper.

By providing a picture message gateway, classified advertisers can take one or more pictures of their item, as well as the traditional text used in adverts. The item details are then placed on the Cellifieds site, while an email is sent to the publishers with details of the new advert.

For the standard service, there will be no set up or monthly fees, as a revenue sharing model will be used, with the customer being billed to their phone bill. If the service proves successful, the rewards are shared, but with no ongoing or upfront costs, it is a risk free service. All we ask for is for our logo to be placed somewhere on the classified pages.

With the credit crunch biting, more people will be trying to sell no longer needed luxuries. Why not help your readers sell their items using just their mobile phone?

For more information email us at queries@webcorona.com for more information, or give us a call on 08458 683356.

DriveWire Site Now Live!

Drivewire, the new car magazine aimed at drivers in Northern Ireland and beyond, has now been launched! We have plans to add lots more exciting new features, but we’re going live with a good foundation for bringing car news to readers.

We have blogs, message forums, news, reviews, car information, classifieds, a YouTube TV feed and lots of other exciting things for petrol heads to get their teeth into!

The system was developed as a bespoke solution, tailored to include all the features which we wished for. There is a phpbb3 forum, which knits in with the custom code, to provide a comments/forum system to encourage debate on a feature rich platform.

Other features include:

- Text Tools: An in house tool to create graphical fonts, on the fly, via PHP. This gives us the power to use interesting and unusual fonts, while seamlessly integrating with CSS, by using a server side pre-parser. This has also been used to great affect on the Royal Ulster Academy site, the Nomadic Belfast site, the Nitelife site, and Cellifieds which we have also designed, developed and now host.

- Cellifieds, SNAP IT, SEND IT, SELL IT. technology to allow all adverts entered into the classifieds system to be viewed over the mobile phone as we through the Cellifieds web site. Sending an MMS to 88810 starting with ‘drivewire’ gives access to a custom catalogue. This will be extended in the future to provide access to news and reviews, while on the move.

- Classifieds, linked via reviews: This gives readers an opportunity to buy what they are reading about.

- YouTube Car Feed: A custom TV feed from YouTube selects the best and most recent car videos and broadcasts them to your browser. We will be adding our own channels, with our own footage soon too (we have an Aston video waiting in the wings!).

We have plans for many other features, including user blogs and reviews. We want to make the reader the star of the show, while providing our own quality content for the less interactive user.

Take a look at the site at http://www.drivewire.eu. Don’t forget to register!
