A new year, a new web site!
This was a little pet project done by myself. As more of a developer than a designer, I tend to just work on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of websites. Occasionally, it’s good to do something a bit more arty though. I think it’s an improvement on the previous site and it integrates the dynamic graphical font technology, which we have used on other sites recently.
Ultimately, website design is very much about fashion, just as in other areas of design. What may look good and modern in 2007, may not look as cutting edge in 2009. There seems to be a bit of a drift to ‘less is more’, with clutter free designs looking rather refreshing.
My (rather busy) designer would no doubt do everything differently, but I’ve got to have somewhere to play, haven’t I? :)
The site still integrates with Textpattern for the blog and everything meets WC3 standards. CSS is used throughout, along with modern structured XHTML (no nasty table structures here!). I fixed a few broken links which had slipped past me at the last refresh (oops!) and plan to add some more dynamic/clever features to show off what we can do. In the mean time, take a look at a few of our other recent sites, such as DriveWire Magazine and Cellifieds. More of our sites can be found on our Case Studies page.
